The rain last weekend was a godsend. I have been out planting my filler plants – which this year is desperately needed as it has been so dry many plants have not grown to their full size and left plenty of gaps. We could do with more, but at least we have eventually had some.
The wild flower meadow looks really good and because it has been dry it has not grown too tall so the rain we had did not knock it all down. We have loads of yellow rattle and so the grasses are getting less, but the dog daisy’s, the hard heads and even the orchids are all plentiful. It is very romantic walking through it, even in the rain.
