What about this weather, isn’t it fabulous hotter than most of June last year but it does make you worry that a hard frost will come along and spoil all the new leaves as they are still so tender.
We are cutting the main hawthorn hedge this week, what a job that is! It takes about three days hard slog and in this heat it is even more unpleasant than usual but it does look lovely when it is all finished. The birds seem to love it and are queuing up to get their nests in the right spot as soon as we have finished.
It is our first Open Gardens for charity on Sunday so if you have any time to spare we would love to see you. All the proceeds from the entrance will go to the well deserved National Gardens Scheme and we are open our usual times 10.00 am til 4.00pm from the entrance. A trip in the Teashop is a must as t will be serving yummy cakes and scones.
