The craft fair held last weekend was most successful, for a change the weather was really good and we had plenty of visitors to both the gardens and to the many and varied stalls.
Now the weather has finally warmed up the grass is growing very quickly and we decided it was time to give it its yearly treatment for weeds. This is for all the usual ones like dandelions, buttercup etc but they are now all curling up and not looking too healthy, next we will scarify to get rid of thatch at the roots and then we will aerate it and finally feed it. It does make a difference to the lawn as it always seems to stay green even in drought conditions.
The Yew that was rather drastically cut back is starting already to throw out some new shoots on it old branches, so will soon be looking a lot better so it looks as though it will carry on growing and not give up with the shock of nearly cutting it down.
